What do you do when you live in San Mateo or surrounding cities and find that you have a kitty (or kitties!) that needs attention? You contact us, of course! If we can’t help you directly, we’ll try to help you find someone who can.  Here are three examples of how we recently helped neighbors with community cats:

Lady: We received a call from a couple who had been feeding a beautiful kitty that they suspected was pregnant. We jumped into action and tried for several nights to get her into the trap. But she was off having her kittens. Lady is now spayed and ready for her forever home and her kittens are being spayed and neutered and will be heading to their homes soon. Contact us if you would like to adopt Lady!

Kiki: Gabby posted on Nextdoor that the kitty she’d been feeding was getting bigger by the day and wanted to know what to do – she was put in contact with us, and Kiki was trapped on the second night of trying. What we didn’t know at the time of trapping was she had already had her kittens, so we had her spayed and returned her right away to her kittens (this is actually the recommended TNR procedure as cats can get pregnant again while still nursing). We will trap the kittens, spay and neuter, and find them wonderful forever homes. Gabby will continue being Kiki’s caregiver.

Mars and Vanilla Ice: Mars, a pretty tortoise shell with white markings, is bonded to Vanilla Ice. When Mars started looking pregnant, Trina reached out to us. We were able to get both cats to walk into a drop trap together and Mars was spayed and Vanilla Ice was neutered. Here they are relaxing just hours after their release.

Please reach out to us if you have a community cat that needs our help!
