Our group was feeding this black kitten (now 4 years old) at one of our feeding sites on the streets of San Mateo for several years. She was the only survivor of three siblings, living on a dangerous street where cars drive fast and some people threatened to harm the cats. A woman let her, and up to 10 other homeless cats, take refuge in her back garage, feeding them occasionally. But the woman passed away, so we also trapped her mom, a tux, who is living with one of our volunteers.
This black kitty is now getting all the attention, food, and love she wants as an indoor cat. From her family, who named her Kitty:
She’s an absolute sweetheart and you would never know she was ever feral. She comes when you call her name and listens if you tell her not to do something, she’s extremely smart. She sleeps with my daughter and another cat we adopted a few months later, she follows my daughter around everywhere she goes, meows to let us know what she wants/needs (and she’s very particular!! lol), she doesn’t like to be alone, loves to be held, pet and brushed. The other cat we adopted is also female and they’re the best of friends, Kitty also meows to let us know what the other cat needs/wants since the other cat is very shy. It’s very sweet. She’s been a blessing to our household and I thank you for bringing her into our life.
God bless
