Five abandoned kittens (three in photo above; all five in first two photos below), just a couple weeks old, were found by Edie Anderies in a box next to a dumpster in Pacifica, in late June, 2022. They were very weak, hungry, with very severe Upper Respiratory Illness (URI), serious eye infections, and various other ailments. Edie took them in, and after a week of caring for them, her friend Jodi Tilsdale, contacted us for help. We took over their care, with three of them taken in by Kristin, an expert at fostering, who applied her expertise, gradually strengthening and nurturing them with her daughters.
The two others had worse symptoms, including eyes extremely swollen and stuck shut…. the emergency vet said one would likely lose vision in both eyes, and the other would likely lose vision in one eye. A Visionary Vet expert gave a similar prognosis, and diagnosed feline herpes as well.
We, the kittens and TLC, didn’t give up. The Visionary Vet prescribed several medications, and eye exercises, all to be applied several times per day, for three months. And a virtual miracle happened…the kittens recovered their vision completely, and became healthy again. They are now all happily adopted in the homes of loving families (Hannah giving two of them, Pepper & Olive, all the TLC they need, in third photo below).
